Role Description

Coordinates the appropriate placement of patients through professional judgment, communication, and defined organizational standards and policy.

• Assesses patients' needs upon admission and utilizes the nursing process in providing responsible patient care.
• Documents all significant information on appropriate patient record.
• Communicates significant information and collaborates with teammates responsible for, or involved in, the care of the patient.
• Anticipates changing patient care needs and department situations.
• Resolves patient related problems within scope of responsibility.
• Participates in the facility's Performance Improvement program.
• Follows organizational policy and procedure and department protocols and serves as a resource for others.
• Demonstrates age-specific competency in clinical practice environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• License to practice as Registered Nurse or temporary Registered Nurse petitioner in the state of North Carolina required.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA required.
• Current successful completion of ACLS from AHA required.
• High-level of problem solving to identify solutions with human, technical, clinical or administrative problems.

Requirements

• General hospital environment with frequent exposure to chemicals, pathogens and patient blood and body fluids.
• Frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying.
• Frequent walking, standing, stooping and reaching.
