Role Description

The Registered Nurse – Charge Auditor plans, conducts, and performs charge audits, based on clinical documentation and billing practices for conformity with applicable regulatory requirements.

• Provides training and education to clinical/charging teams on appropriate documentation and charge capture processes.
• Identifies proactive opportunities to enhance charge capture processes and regulatory compliance.
• Facilitates appropriate revenue capture.
• Coordinates and monitors charge capture projects.
• Works closely with clinical leadership to implement best practices and ensure audit findings are addressed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in nursing
• 2 years of professional nursing experience
• 2 years of work experience in healthcare coding, billing, charge capture, reimbursement

Requirements

• Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing as an RN (Registered Nurse)
