[Hiring] Release of Health Information Analyst @Fraser Health

Role Description

We are looking for a Full Time Release of Health Information (ROI) Analyst to join our team in Surrey, B.C. As the Release of Health Information (ROI) Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting community program areas across Fraser Health in the processing of requests for health records made under BC’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).

• Leads the development, implementation and revision of processes necessary to facilitate effective and efficient release of health information requests in compliance with FIPPA.
• Delivers education content and materials to non-acute program areas on the application of FIPPA and ROI best practices.
• Interprets ROI related questions from non-acute program areas and provides expertise on the application of redactions.
• Supports the processing of ROI requests by interacting with applicants and the OIPC where necessary.
• Leads and/or assists with the response to OIPC reviews and inquiries on behalf of Fraser Health.
• Maintains a current knowledge of FIPPA and other relevant FOI and Privacy related legislation.
• Participates in strategic planning support and change management services.

Qualifications

• A minimum level of education, training and experience equivalent to Bachelor Degree in Health Administration, Law or another related discipline.
• Five to seven years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Completion of an Information Access, Health Information Management and/or Protection of Privacy Certificate Program is an asset.

Requirements

• Processes requests for health information from community Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) programs in compliance with FIPPA.
• Supports the development of processes necessary to facilitate effective and efficient release of health information requests.
• Interprets ROI related questions from non-acute program areas.
• Assists with the response to OIPC reviews and inquiries.
• Maintains a current knowledge of FIPPA and other relevant legislation.
• Provides ROI business analysis by carrying out workflow analysis.
• Participates in ROI, FOI and other privacy projects.
• Develops and analyzes tools, processes and timelines to ensure compliance.
• Establishes and supports systems that effectively track and report on ROI requests.
• Resolves any operational issues with ROI systems.
• Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of ROI goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
• Researches and analyzes innovative approaches to improve efficiency.

Benefits

• Salary range for this position is CAD $35.36 - $50.83 / hour.
