Role Description

Mira Mace is a venture-backed company on a mission to help people navigate a complicated healthcare system with clarity and confidence. We pair people-centered navigation with technology so patients understand their care, stay connected to their providers, and get to the resources they need.

The Rapid Response Team is built for high-urgency cases that can't wait. This is non-clinical navigation support, focusing on removing obstacles between people and the care they're entitled to. Most cases resolve in 2–3 days, and speed with follow-through is essential.

• Take cases that reach you already triaged by the healthcare ops team.
• Read the case and build an execution plan.
• Work the plan using provided resource directories and find additional resources as needed.
• Keep ops informed about progress, blockers, and needs.
• Call the patient to share progress and clarify uncertainties.
• Document every interaction and support activity accurately in our platform.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and privacy standards.

Qualifications

• An active LPN/LVN license; or Community Health Worker (CHW) certification; or equivalent community health/patient-navigation experience.
• 2+ years of patient- or community-facing support experience (care coordination, case management, member advocacy, health coaching, benefits navigation, or similar).
• Working knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system and insurance.
• Comfort working independently and managing multiple urgent cases.
• Reliable computer, internet, and a quiet space for patient calls.

Requirements

• Experience supporting older adults or patients with complex or serious illness (preferred).
• Experience in urgent or high-tempo settings (triage desks, crisis lines, ED or discharge coordination) (preferred).
• Familiarity with Medicaid and other public programs (preferred).
• Bilingual — Spanish, or another language common among the patients we serve (preferred).

Benefits

• This is a remote, 1099 independent contractor role.
• Commitment of at least 20 hours per week, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours.
• Shifts span a 7-day schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• On-call rotation for overnight coverage.
• Rate of $20–$30 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, licensure, availability, and language skills.
