Role Description

Qualified Psychologist for Community Based Mental Health Therapy Services.

• Work from home roughly 90% and in the community roughly 10%
• Location: Ipswich (can be located anywhere in Suffolk, Norfolk, East Anglia or East Of England, with travel to Suffolk a couple of times per month)
• Salary: £46,781 - £57,000 depending on experience
• Career Level: C / Expert / (NHS Band 7 - 8a)
• Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours a week / flexible working considered)

The National Probation Service (NPS) has partnered with St Andrew’s Healthcare to deliver Community Sentence treatment Requirements as part of a Mental Health Treatment Requirement initiative. This is a unique opportunity to work as a Qualified Psychologist embedded in probation offices in the Suffolk region.

Within this role, you will support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the Criminal Justice System (CJS) by providing psychological assessment and interventions, working independently according to an agreed plan and within the overall framework of MHTRs, and St Andrew’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Registered with the HCPC or able to register in the near future
• Experience of using a range of therapeutic modalities including CBT, EMDR, and Compassion Focused Therapy (advantageous)

Requirements

• Deliver outcome-based psychological therapy tailored to meet the needs of service users
• Supervise assistant psychologists in a manualized treatment approach
• Work with the wider team on more complex cases
• Access to good public transport links or a full driver’s license (as some travel is required)
