[Hiring] Psychiatric Consultant @Talkspace Corporate

Role Description

We are looking for a Psychiatric Consultant to join our Collaborative Care team. The Psychiatric Consultant supports the Collaborative Care team—the primary care provider, patient, and Behavioral Health Care Manager—through regular consultation on an assigned caseload of patients.

• Advise the primary care provider on appropriate medications and other treatment strategies.
• Provide educational support on diagnosing and managing behavioral health conditions.
• This role requires 2–5 hours of work per week.
• It is a remote 1099 contract position.

Qualifications

• Licensed Psychiatrist or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) required; Dual Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) preferred.
• Licensed in OH or OR required (both preferred).
• Experience in a Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) or equivalent.
• Demonstrated understanding of the Collaborative Care model for mental health service delivery in Primary Care settings.
• Ability to quickly synthesize medical and psychiatric data and formulate effective and evidence-based clinical recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Positive, flexible, and solution-focused attitude.

Requirements

• Provide regularly scheduled (usually weekly) caseload consultation to Behavioral Health Care Managers.
• Case review consultations focus primarily on patients who are new to the caseload or who are not improving as expected under their current treatment plan.
• Work with Behavioral Health Care Managers to oversee the status and population health of their assigned patient caseload.
• Recommend any treatment adjustments through the case review process or in ad hoc consultations, including medication recommendations and other interventions, within 24 hours of consulting with a Behavioral Health Care Manager or other team members.
• Advise on treatment for patients who may need more intensive or more specialized mental health care.
• Be available to provide occasional ad hoc telephone consultation to primary care providers for very complex patients or challenging patient situations.

Compensation

• The hourly rate for this role is between $100 and $120/hourly .
• Within the hourly rate bands, leveling corresponds to each candidate’s relevant experience, skills as assessed during the interview process, education, and applicable certifications.
