[Hiring] Professional Billing Specialist @OU Health

Role Description

Entry‑level professional billing role responsible for accurate claim submission and routine follow‑up using established workflows in an academic medical environment.

• Prepare and submit professional claims; correct routine claim errors and rejections.
• Work assigned billing and follow‑up queues in Epic.
• Apply foundational knowledge of CPT, ICD‑10‑CM, modifiers, and payer rules.
• Meet productivity, quality, and timeliness standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated with problem-solving skills.
• General understanding of HIPAA and/or EOB.
• Experience working with insurance companies.

Requirements

• Minimum Requirements (Level 1):
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: At least 1 year of Medical Insurance experience.
• Certification/License/Registration: None required.
• Minimum Requirements (Level 2):
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: At least 3 years of professional billing experience required.
• Certification/License/Registration: CPB required within 1 year of hire date.
