Role Description

mpathic is seeking experienced physicians to help evaluate and improve the next generation of AI systems used in healthcare. As a Clinical Subject Matter Expert, you'll apply your medical expertise to:

• Create realistic, high-quality patient scenarios that reflect real-world medical decision-making.
• Evaluate AI-generated responses using structured evaluation frameworks to assess clinical accuracy, safety, and quality.
• Provide thoughtful, actionable feedback that helps improve the performance, reliability, and trustworthiness of frontier AI systems.
• Collaborate with mpathic's research team through onboarding, calibration sessions, and ongoing quality discussions to ensure consistent, high-quality evaluations.

Qualifications

• We're looking for clinicians who are passionate about advancing the safe and responsible use of AI in healthcare.
• You are one of the following:
  • Attending Physician: Board certified with a current, active, unrestricted medical license.
  • Resident Physician: In your final year of residency or a recent graduate who is board eligible.
  • Fellow: Board certified or board eligible in your primary specialty with a current, active, unrestricted medical license.
• You bring strong clinical judgment, clear written communication skills, and an interest in shaping the next generation of AI systems through expert human evaluation.
• Experience with medical education, research, quality improvement, or clinical guideline development is a plus, but not required.

Requirements

• This is a contract, project-based position.
• The hourly rate will depend on experience and project parameters. The rate will be disclosed prior to starting the project.
