Role Description

This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas.

• Evaluate imaging test results for the purposes of diagnosis, patient care, research, and education.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team consisting of direct and indirect patient care professionals, including diagnostic imaging staff, x-ray technicians, laboratory staff, and referring clinical team and providers.
• Evaluate imaging results and consult with the interdisciplinary clinical and research staff regarding findings to assist and direct clinical care plans and achieve clinical and research objectives.
• Consult with the requesting clinical provider before a procedure is done, deciding on the procedure and ensuring the minimization of the invasion of the patient.
• Provide consultation, report of the radiologic diagnostic examination, delivering interpretation of the study and the diagnosis of the radiographic examination to the clinician.
• Provide training in the specialty of Diagnostic Radiology to Radiology residents, other Department physicians, and medical students.
• Assist with the formulation of plans and procedures for assigned services; coordinate radiological services with other medical activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Basic Requirement for Physician (Radiology-Diagnostic):
• Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada.
• Licensure: Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
• Graduate Training: At least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting.
• Residency Training for GP-14: Successful completion of the required accredited residency training in the specialty of the position to be filled (Radiology-Diagnostic) and equivalent experience and training equal to at least 4 years.
