Role Description

The PASS Specialist serves as a vital connection point between patients, internal teams, and external partners, providing integrated support throughout the patient care continuum. This role combines responsibilities from follow-up coordination, abortion care navigation, and front-line patient contact to ensure seamless, compassionate, and efficient care delivery.

At the core of this role is Patient Navigation, with a focus on abortion care coordination, financial and logistical support, and advocacy—especially for patients facing complex barriers. The PASS Specialist ensures timely, accurate, and equitable access to care while meeting clinical, legal, and organizational standards.

The PASS Specialist is responsible for managing follow-up care processes, conducting abortion care case management, answering patient calls, handling billing-related questions, and ensuring compliance with medical, legal, and organizational standards. This role involves interacting with patients to ensure they receive timely and accurate information regarding medical follow-ups, financial services, and appointment scheduling.

This position requires excellent communication, critical thinking, and strong organizational skills, along with the ability to work across teams and navigate complex healthcare and social service systems.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information discreetly.
• Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Proficiency in navigating electronic health records, patient portals, and billing systems.
• Familiarity with state-specific reproductive healthcare regulations, including abortion laws and ODH reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated cultural humility and a commitment to reproductive justice and health equity.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across departments and external partners.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in health sciences, social work, public health, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in a patient navigation, centralized follow-up, care coordination, or medical case management role, preferably within a reproductive healthcare setting is a high priority.
• Experience in a call center or direct patient communication role strongly preferred.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
