Role Description
This position, Palliative Care Medical Assistant, is responsible for a variety of clinical and administrative tasks for the Agrace Palliative Care program. This includes but is not limited to:

Conducting phone conversations with potential patients

Answering questions about services

Scheduling palliative care clinician visits

Coordinating care with referral partners

Providing other administrative support in the Palliative Care program
This role requires exceptional communication skills as he/she/they will interact with:

Patients/families

Account managers
-
Primary care providers
-
Other healthcare partners

The Palliative Care team
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or CMA
-
Minimum one year of clinic experience preferred

Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), medical terminology

Ability to develop, maintain, and apply knowledge of palliative care

Knowledge of medical terminology

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to maintain professional boundaries with patients, families, and co-workers

Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others

Ability to prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced environment

Ability to think creatively and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills

Competence in culture/ethnicity, gender, race, age, identification, and educational background diversity

Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite and experienced with electronic health records (EHR); Epic preferred

Ability to be flexible in time and task to meet organizational needs

Ability to maintain confidentiality about patients, families, caregivers, staff, donors, and organizational intellectual property

Ability to use proper body mechanics and standard precautions

Full-time | 0.8 FTE (32 hours/week) | AM Shift | Monday-Friday | 8a-5p

Wednesday off
-
No weekends, no holidays, no on call

Primarily remote, occasional in-person requirements in Madison
