[Hiring] Outpatient Coding Supervisor @Texas Health Resources

Role Description

We are looking for a qualified Outpatient Coding Supervisor like you to join our Texas Health Family.

• Work location: Remote
• Work hours: Monday through Friday, generally 8:00 am to 4:30 pm but some flexibility on hours

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in HIM or other healthcare related field (2 Years preferred) or
• Associate's Degree in HIM or other healthcare related field (4 Years) REQUIRED or
• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent (6 Years) - Years of relevant experience can be substituted in lieu of degree REQUIRED
• 5 Years related experience in acute care hospital coding with progressive responsibility in coding and leadership REQUIRED
• 1 Year performing coding audits and reviews REQUIRED
• Licenses and Certifications:
• RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator preferred or
• RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician preferred or
• COC - Certified Outpatient Coder Upon Hire REQUIRED or
• CCS - Certified Coding Specialist Upon Hire REQUIRED or
• Other CIC, CPC, CCSP Upon Hire REQUIRED

Requirements

• Proficient in software applications (Excel, Word, Optum CAC, EPIC)
• Thorough knowledge of ICD 10-CM, PCS and/or CPT
• Expert in coding convention/automated encoder (knowledge management of NCCI/OCE billing edits)
• Knowledgeable in APC and/or DRG methodologies and all regulatory/payer requirements associated with coding
• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply THR coding policies and procedures to record review process
• Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated clear and concise oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated strong decision making and problem-solving skills
• Personal initiative to keep abreast of new developments in coding updates/technology/research/regulatory data
