Role Description

Qualifications

• At least 2 to 3 years of experience in medical or optical billing, preferably in an optometry or ophthalmology setting
• Hands-on experience with vision insurance plans, including EyeMed, Davis Vision, and Avesis, and medical insurance providers, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding for eye care services
• Experience with optical practice management systems, such as OfficeMate, Eyefinity, RevolutionEHR, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with insurance clearinghouses, such as Availity or Change Healthcare
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, initiative, and ability to work independently in a remote environment

Requirements

• Experience with Medicare Advantage or Medicaid managed care vision billing
• Experience with prior authorizations for ophthalmic procedures
• Professional certification in Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Professional Biller (CPB), or Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO)
