Role Description
GDIT has been supporting the Indian Health Service (IHS) mission for 20+ years; working with the agency to provide integral services to raise health access and availability to 2.6 million American Indians and Alaska Natives. You'll be part of modernizing the Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform to enable better data access, patient experience, and quality of care for 567 tribes in 37 states and over 600 medical facilities.
As a Nurse Informaticist supporting the IHS EHRM program, you will be responsible for providing clinical support to the client.

Serves as an expert role model in promoting the understanding, integration, and application of information technology in healthcare settings.

Represents nursing interests in partnerships with clinical, operational, and IT leadership to translate clinical needs into information system needs.

Provides workflow analysis, project implementation, and operational support to customer.

Serves as subject matter expert with field and corporate partners to establish and disseminate best practices for integrated technologies.

Identifies highest-value opportunities to propose solutions to clinical workflow and operational barriers, based on data and observation.
Qualifications

Bachelorโs degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

8+ years of experience supporting medium to large IT projects.

Knowledge of Indian Health Services workflows.

Extensive knowledge of Oracle Health platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Specific knowledge of inpatient, surgery, or womenโs health workflows.

Proficiency with clinical decision support tools, workflow automation, and clinical documentation tools.

Experience working in nursing informatics or a clinical setting with health IT experience.

Proficient in Microsoft products.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and synthesize technical and clinical information.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage nursing teams and leadership effectively.

Ability to travel up to 25% of the year, if needed.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance.
