Role Description
As Medical Science Liaison, T1D Immunology within our R&D team, you will serve as the trusted scientific partner in the field for external experts and decision-makers, engaging in mutual scientific exchange to deliver the therapeutic-specific Sanofi medical strategy, capture actionable insights from healthcare providers (HCPs) and key opinion leaders (KOLs), and ultimately support improved health for patients.
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-facing role whose main objectives are:

Execute the therapeutic area medical plan.
All MSLs comply with the local and corporate compliance frameworks for external and internal interactions and complete all global/local mandatory trainings.

Main Responsibilities

Scientific Engagement and Exchange (60%)
-
Build and develop enduring needs-based peer-to-peer relationships with HCPs and KOLs.

Understand HCP/KOLs perspectives and needs to adapt scientific content.

Identify areas of mutual collaboration and develop territory-specific strategic medical action plans.

Communicate the benefits, risks, appropriate use, and clinical value of our products.

Operate independently and develop healthcare networks.

Insight Generation (20%)
-
Generate and share actionable insights and propose solutions/actions.
-
Gather data, facts, and observations on the external healthcare environment.

Communicate insights to internal teams to support medical strategy.

Internal Collaboration (10%)
-
Work closely with office-based medical colleagues to shape and co-execute the country medical plan.

Develop and maintain an internal stakeholder network.
-
Provide scientific support for internal functions regarding scientific trainings and updates.

Training/Compliance (10%)
-
Complete all MSL SOP trainings and corporate assigned compliance trainings.
-
Complete the MSL onboarding and certification program.
-
Incorporate continued best practices of the Scientific Engagement Model and Insights process.

Develop and maintain technical therapy area expertise and advanced transversal skills.

Create an individual development plan aligned with career aspirations.
Qualifications
-
Medical, Pharmacy or post graduate level science degree (E.g., PharmD, MD/DO, DNP, PhD, PA).

Clinical Experience in Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) and/or immunology.

Fluency in spoken and written business English.
-
In-depth knowledge and clinical experience of the diabetes disease state and relevant products.

Strong understanding of the type 1 diabetes healthcare landscape of the territory.

Strong communication and presentation skills.
-
Familiarity with omnichannel tools and ability to communicate via digital channels.

Good understanding of clinical development and clinical research.
-
Knowledge of pharmacovigilance and local regulatory processes.

Strong business acumen and ability to build strategic plans.
-
Valid driverโs license in the USA with a safe driving record.
-
Travel: 60-80% (majority in territory; attendance at congresses and internal meetings within the US).
