[Hiring] Medical Records Specialist @Arista Non-DVM

Role Description

The Medical Records Specialist works with the Care Navigation Team to improve efficiency and quality of care by ensuring that all patient medical records are readily available in an organized, easily accessible format.

• Facilitate new patient referral intake process by acquiring, organizing, appropriately summarizing, and tracking medical records from all providers involved in the current and historical care of an individual patient.
• Recognize that accurate and easily referenced medical records greatly impact the quality, cost, and outcome of care for every patient.
• Build a strong working relationship with the Care Navigation Team, which includes the Care Navigator and Hospital Logistics Expert.
• Learn to read, understand, and honor medical records and practice style of community general veterinary practice teams and the Arista specialty & emergency teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working in healthcare - veterinary technician, nurse, or relevant clinical experience.
• Experience in both general practice and specialty/emergency veterinary medicine preferred.
• High proficiency with Electronic Medical Record/PIMS systems as well as email, efax, PDF, and document scanning.
• Must be comfortable with medical terminology, medical records, and diagnostic reports.
• Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated for an efficient working style.
• Clear and friendly verbal and written communication skills (in-person, telephone, texting, etc).
• Ability to work independently while staying connected to a team.
• Commitment to exceptional customer service, high-quality care, and overall excellence.
• Ability to work remotely.
• Ability to meet any position-specific screening requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire.
