Role Description

TISTA is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Record Abstractor to support healthcare quality improvement initiatives. In this role, you will:

• Review medical records and source documentation to identify and abstract required clinical data elements.
• Accurately enter abstracted data into designated abstraction software systems.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of medical records and protected health information (PHI).
• Follow established processes, procedures and quality standards.
• Meet or exceed established productivity and accuracy expectations.
• Perform additional project-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a hospital, healthcare or medical record review environment.
• Education or formal training in a related field may substitute for experience requirements.
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform work accurately and efficiently.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Requirements

• Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on clinical data abstraction.
• Familiarity with healthcare quality measures and chart review methodologies.
• Proven ability to meet strict daily chart-volume quotas and accuracy standards.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Pay Range

The pay for this position ranges from $40,730 to $47,500. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
