Role Description
The Medical Advisor will provide clinical expertise across product development, consumer education, media representation, and marketing review. This physician will serve as a credible medical voice for the brand while ensuring scientific integrity and regulatory responsibility across all public-facing health content. This is a highly visible role ideal for a physician passionate about preventive health, health equity, and empowering Black women through education.
Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Scientific Oversight

Advise on formulation strategy and ingredient selection for new and existing supplements

Review clinical research to support product claims and positioning

Provide guidance on dosing, safety considerations, contraindications, and target populations

Participate in product concept meetings and innovation strategy sessions

Educational Programming
-
Host monthly virtual educational webinars (Zoom) including live Q&A sessions

Develop educational slide decks and talking points for consumer-facing sessions
-
Address topics related to women's health, preventive care, and culturally relevant medical concerns
-
Content Creation & Review
-
Collaborate on educational social media content (Reels, carousels, short-form videos, lives)

Provide expert commentary on health topics relevant to BGVβs audience

Review health-related messaging and marketing materials, advertising copy, website content for medical accuracy

Brand Representation
-
Represent Black Girl Vitamins at select conferences, health expos, and brand events

Participate in podcast interviews, media opportunities, and press features as the brandβs medical voice

Contribute quotes for press releases and thought leadership initiatives

Physicians with demonstrated experience addressing health disparities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Qualifications

Active U.S. medical license in good standing

Board-certified physician (MD or DO)

Minimum 3β5 years of clinical experience

Demonstrated experience in public speaking, media, or patient education preferred

Comfort appearing on video and participating in live Q&A sessions

Strong understanding of supplement regulations and evidence-based claims

Passion for advancing health equity
Time Commitment

Approximately 10β20 hours per month (may vary based on campaign cycles and product launches)

Monthly webinar commitment required

Occasional travel for events and conferences
Compensation
This is a paid independent contractor role. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience, scope of work, and media participation. Speaking engagements and travel will be compensated separately as applicable.
