Role Description

The MedTech SME provides deep domain expertise across medical devices, product development, sustaining engineering, quality, and regulatory considerations. This role supports strategy, operating model design, sourcing decisions, and transformation initiatives for MedTech and life sciences clients.

Job Responsibilities

• Advise clients on medical device and MedTech operating models, including R&D, engineering, sustainment, and post-market support.
• Assess current-state delivery structures and identify opportunities to improve cost, speed, quality, and scalability.
• Define insource / outsource / co-source strategies across software, hardware, systems engineering, verification, testing, and lab support.
• Support development of future-state target operating models for product lifecycle and sustainment.
• Translate industry trends, competitive benchmarks, and client pain points into practical recommendations.
• Partner with sourcing, transformation, quality, and regulatory leaders to shape business cases and roadmap options.
• Contribute to proposals, workshops, executive presentations, and client interviews.
• Bring credibility in discussions with R&D, engineering, quality, and manufacturing stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 10+ years of experience in MedTech, medical devices, life sciences, or related engineering environments.
• Strong understanding of product development, sustaining engineering, quality, and regulated product lifecycles.
• Experience with operating model design, service delivery transformation, or sourcing strategy.
• Working knowledge of regulatory and quality expectations in medtech environments.
• Ability to communicate clearly with executive, technical, and business audiences.
• Prefer: Experience supporting global delivery models or supplier transformation.
• Prefer: Familiarity with AI, automation, digital engineering, or connected-device environments.
• Prefer: Experience in consulting, advisory, or internal strategy roles.
• Credible domain leadership in client discussions.
• High-quality recommendations that balance cost, risk, and execution.
• Clear contribution to pipeline, proposals, and client delivery.
