Role Description

This is a remote position. Rockstar is seeking a highly accurate and proactive Insurance Verification & Authorization Specialist to support a growing physical therapy practice operating across multiple U.S. states. This is a full-time remote role, ideal for a detail-oriented virtual assistant with experience in healthcare admin, insurance workflows, and EMR systems.

• Full-time, remote
• Work hours: U.S. Mountain Standard Time (MST)
• Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection
• Must use dual monitors for optimal workflow and speed
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits across a variety of payers and plans
• Obtain prior authorizations and referrals as required by insurance
• Accurately update patient insurance records within the EMR (WebPT)
• Communicate effectively with patients and internal teams to clarify insurance requirements
• Proactively follow up on pending verifications or authorization requests
• Flag and report issues that may affect patient scheduling or treatment approval
• Support insurance documentation and maintain organized digital records
• Collaborate via Microsoft Teams with onsite and remote administrative staff

Tools You'll Use

• EMR: Prompt
• Communication & Collaboration: Microsoft Teams
• Excel, shared drives, and patient management portals as needed

Qualifications

• Experience with insurance verification and prior authorization (physical therapy or outpatient healthcare preferred)
• Familiarity with U.S. healthcare insurance terminology and workflow
• Proficient in navigating payer websites, portals, and verification tools
• Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Comfortable working independently with accuracy and accountability
• Able to consistently work full-time MST hours
