Role Description

As a HIMS Technician, you will be responsible for high-volume document imaging in a productivity-focused remote environment. You will work independently while staying highly engaged with your virtual team and use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams to support daily tasks and communication.

This is a remote opportunity. Your work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. MST. Candidates must reside in the following state(s) only: AL, AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NH, NY, NM, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, WV, WY.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of health information practices and principles.
• Completion of one or more years of post-high school education in medical records and information systems OR high school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats.
• Ability to inspect, read, and analyze written material.
• Strong technical skills in the use of software applications and databases.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledgeable and proficient in accessing and utilizing all applicable EHR systems.

Requirements

• Conduct routine releases of health information in accordance with company policy and all state and federal laws.
• Review and analyze health information through electronic health record tools for provider completion and record deficiencies.
• Provide customer service and assistance related to HIMS departmental functions to patients, vendors, providers, and other departments.
• Perform document imaging functions including scanning, Quality Control, and Validation.
• Perform current and retrospective review of scanned documents to maintain the integrity of the Electronic Medical Record.
• Assist with basic transcription issues and requests, provide training for Dragon/voice recognition applications.
• Work under regular supervision using defined processes and conduct problem solving using learned expertise in regulations and medical record requirements.
