[Hiring] HIM Outpatient Coding Supervisor @Guidehouse

Role Description

Assists coders, compliant documentation management staff, and the Internal Revenue Integrity team with complex patient care cases by analyzing documentation and discussing correct code assignment.

• Reviews medical records flagged through the SMART (Inpatient and Outpatient tools) software for patterns of coding errors and opportunities for coder and/or clinical education.
• Serves as a technical expert/resource for department manager, staff, physicians, administrative, and external customers to provide information or clarification on accurate and ethical coding and documentation standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience; (Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree).
• Currently certified as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
• A strong outpatient coding background at a senior level including coding of outpatient/inpatient charts, E/M charging, injection and infusions charging, as well as data management and coder audit and education experience.
• Must maintain credential throughout employment.
• A minimum of two years of people leadership experience is required.

Requirements

• Experience working in any of the following systems: EPIC, Cerner, Solventum, and PwC SMART.
• Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical Terminology.
