[Hiring] Health Record Associate @Baptist Health South Florida

Role Description

Travels to nursing units and clinical areas to retrieve clinical documents of in-house and discharged patients for prepping, scanning, indexing, and validation of documents into the electronic health records (EHR) for timely electronic access by provider for management of patient care.

• Responds to requests for release of medical records and releases timely protected health information according to Federal Law, client’s Policy and Procedures, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Interviews patients and obtains timely and accurate information following Florida Department of Health and the Office of Vital Statistics for completion of Certificate of Live Birth.
• Works as a team to meet departmental goals producing timeline and 98% work accuracy.
• Assists with departmental coverage at the different HIM locations.

Estimated pay range for this position is $16.61 - $21.09 / hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Degrees: High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper.
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
• The A+ certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of computer and clinical chart format.
• Ability to work in a high volume high producing focused setting.
• Excellent communication skills and comprehension of oral and written instructions.
• Attentive to fine details and eye-hand coordination.
