[Hiring] Facility ED Coder @Managed Resources

Role Description

The primary responsibility of the Facility ED Coder is to code ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, CPT, Modifiers & APC assignment and identify documentation improvement based on medical record documentation, as needed for various client projects.

Facility ED Coders play a key role in ensuring accurate coding, regulatory compliance, and appropriate reimbursement. Their expertise supports revenue integrity, reduces billing and audit risk, and helps healthcare organizations maintain accurate clinical data that drives operational efficiency, compliance, and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified coder with valid CCS, CPC, or RHIT Certification
• A minimum of 3+ years’ experience required of ED facility coding for medical services
• Requires advanced technical knowledge in facility surgical and medical specialties as assigned
• Requires strong experience using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS level 2 coding classification systems
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience in researching and applying coding rules and regulations
• Must have experience with data entry of codes into a database and/or software tool
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Have a positive, respectful attitude

Requirements

• Abstract all ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, Modifiers, and Units based on medical record documentation
• Accurately enter data into client software and/or coding detail report
• Perform accurate coding using applicable guidelines and client protocols
• Must be able to meet the minimum productivity standards
• Must meet or exceed 95% accuracy rate on quality reviews
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of completed reports to clients
• Enter time accurately and timely into our timekeeping system
• Comply with policies regarding the use and disclosure of protected health information
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and standards related to health information and coding principles
• Other duties as assigned
