Role Description
The Department of Radiology at University of Colorado Denver is seeking applicants for a full-time Emergency Imaging Radiologist faculty physician. We are interested in candidates at any stage of their career from the Sr. Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels. This is an open-track position with faculty able to select between the Academic/Tenure-Eligible and Clinical Practice pathways. Exceptional international candidates who need J1 waivers are excellent candidates for either pathway.
The Emergency Department (ED) Division offers multiple faculty scheduling models designed to accommodate a variety of professional and lifestyle preferences:

ED Daytime:
-
Workweek defined as seven consecutive days (Monday through Sunday).

Shifts run from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
-
Faculty typically work one week out of every two, totaling 182 shifts over a 52-week period.

Fully Remote Nights:
-
Three-person team providing overnight coverage from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
-
On average, each physician works one out of every three weeks, resulting in approximately 17 weeks (about 4 months) of night shifts and 35 weeks (about 8 months) off each year.

In-House Nights:
-
Staffed by a seven-person team providing overnight coverage at both University Hospital and Denver Health Medical Center.

Each member works an average of two weeks out of seven weeks, totaling 15 weeks in a year.

Swing Shifts:
Various models available to support swing shift positions for evenings to midnight.
Key Responsibilities:

Interpretation of all emergent imaging studies performed, including MR, CT, US, and CR/DR examinations.

Participation in all aspects of our clinical practice as a member of the Department of Radiology covering multiple sites.

Ongoing participation and collaboration through interdisciplinary conferences.

Expected participation in fellow and resident education.

Regular interaction with referring providers within our highly collaborative setting.
Qualifications

Licensed MD or DO from accredited institution in the U.S., or equivalent, if a non-U.S. graduate.

Colorado Medical License at time of hire.

ABR certified or eligible.

Radiology fellowship training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities in interpretation of imaging studies and procedures.

Anticipated Pay Range
The starting salary range for this position has been established as:

Sr. Instructor: $450,000 - $550,000

Assistant Professor: $450,000 - $550,000

Associate Professor: $450,000 - $550,000
-
Professor: $450,000 - $550,000
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
