Role Description

Are you an experienced Clinical Documentation Specialist ready to take the next step into a national leadership role? Ramsay Health Care is seeking a Deputy National Clinical Documentation Specialist to support the leadership and delivery of our national Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) program. Working closely with the National Clinical Documentation Manager, you’ll provide clinical and operational leadership across our CDS team, partnering with clinicians, hospital executives, Health Information Services, Finance and Quality to strengthen documentation, coding accuracy, funding optimisation and revenue integrity.

Please note, this role can be based anywhere in Australia and is a part-time position working three days per week.

This is a key national leadership role where you’ll combine your clinical documentation expertise with people leadership, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement.

• Support the National Clinical Documentation Manager in leading and coordinating the national CDS team.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and professional support to Clinical Documentation Specialists.
• Act as delegate for the National Clinical Documentation Manager when required.
• Promote accurate, complete and clinically meaningful documentation across Ramsay.
• Provide guidance on complex documentation and coding matters, including ICD-10-AM.
• Partner with clinical and senior stakeholders to strengthen documentation practices and engagement.
• Analyse CDI performance and identify opportunities to improve clinical, financial and operational outcomes.
• Develop and deliver education, support onboarding and contribute to the professional development of the CDS team.
• Contribute to national CDI policies, processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• You’ll be an experienced Clinical Documentation Specialist with strong clinical credibility, excellent stakeholder skills and a genuine interest in developing people and improving healthcare outcomes.
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Allied Health professional, and Level 2 Certified CDS within Australia (or working towards).
• Minimum three years’ recent experience as a Clinical Documentation Specialist.
• Strong understanding of clinical documentation, coding and ICD-10-AM.
• Understanding of Australian public and private healthcare funding models and revenue operations.
• Demonstrated experience leading, coaching or developing people.
• Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder engagement and IT skills.
