As an
Overnight 988 Crisis Intervention Specialist
, you are not the first voice on the line - you are the
clinical anchor
behind the scenes. You support Crisis Specialists in real time as they respond to people reaching out through the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline via phone, chat, and text.
What Youโll Actually Be Doing:

Provide
live clinical guidance
to Crisis Specialists during active contacts

Support decision-making for
high-acuity and complex situations

Review and complete
clinical documentation
, screening guides, and logs with accuracy and timeliness

Offer
post-contact debriefing
and constructive feedback that helps staff grow

Step into
queue coverage
during volume spikes to keep wait times down

Support onboarding and skill development for newer staff
-
Participate in trainings, case reviews, and quality improvement work
Qualifications

Prefer overnight schedules and work well with autonomy
-
Stay calm and organized in high-acuity environments
-
Enjoy mentoring and supporting peers - not just direct service
-
Can manage multiple technology platforms at once
-
Value thoughtful documentation and clinical consistency
Requirements
-
Bachelorโs degree in social sciences or a related field
-
Knowledge of the public mental health system (King County Preferred)
-
Strong verbal, written, and technical skills
-
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-stakes situations

Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) credential required by the end of the probationary period. Applications must be submitted within 30 days of hire. Crisis Connections will reimburse the cost of obtaining the credential.
