Role Description

Responsible for assessing patient’s nutritional status and intervening with appropriate medical nutrition therapy and/or education to improve, maintain or optimize nutritional status.

• Provides disease specific management and a working knowledge of oncology principles.
• Manages a patient’s diet throughout their chemotherapy and assists with side effects.
• Works with patients and families throughout the course of their treatment and beyond.
• Documents the assessment and interventions in real time in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborates with the oncologist and clinic staff to assist in managing and coordinating patient care.
• Supports the mission of the Company and the Care Management department.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nutritional Services.
• Advanced degree or training in the field of nutrition preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the field of nutrition.
• At least one (1) year in oncology preferred.
• Office experience: procedure entry with experience in insurance and medical terminology preferred.
• Attention to detail, excellent math skills, excellent deduction skills.
• Ability to work independently and good communication skills.
• Data entry and knowledge of Excel.
• Maintenance of Dietetic/Nutritionists licensure and Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Registration in state of employment. CSO preferred.

• Background and drug screens required.
