As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) on the Clinical Oncology Team, you will use your deep expertise in oncology and genomics to inform the design, development, and optimization of Flatiron Health’s point of care products, tools, and service.

The Clinical Oncology Genomics APP will play a critical role as a subject matter expert at the intersection of clinical practice and precision medicine. The role is designed for an advanced practice provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) with deep experience in clinical oncology, genomic testing, somatic and germline test result interpretation, and subsequent patient care and clinical decisions.

Over the term of the contract you will serve as:

• Clinical-Genomics Product Expert
  • Serve as the subject matter expert at the intersection of clinical oncology and genomics for Flatiron’s product development teams.
  • Interpret complex genomic test results and translate clinical workflows into actionable product requirements.
  • Advise on the integration of molecular diagnostics and precision medicine into Flatiron’s software solutions, ensuring products reflect real-world clinical needs and best practices.
  • Review and validate product features related to genomic data capture, interpretation, and clinical decision support.
  • Assess the quality of product output to ensure clinical validity and accuracy prior to these features being in the hands of our point of care customers.
• Product & Workflow Enhancement
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Clinical teams to inform and test enhancements to clinical workflows in OncoEMR and other Flatiron products.
  • Represent the voice of providers in product discovery, scoping, development, rollout, and maintenance phases.
• Education & Enablement
  • Develop and deliver educational resources (e.g., guides, presentations, webinars) to help practices utilize point of care genomic testing recommendations, orders, and results in support of personalized patient care.
  • Serve as a resource for Flatiron colleagues, providing clear explanations of genomic concepts and their impact on product design, user experience, and patient impact.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between clinical workflows, product features, and business objectives.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary discussions focused on the clinical implications of genomics in oncology care.
  • Stay current on advances in molecular diagnostics, targeted therapies, and precision medicine guidelines to inform ongoing product innovation.

Qualifications

• Experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) with at least 5 years of oncology experience in a community or academic setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in interpreting somatic genomic test results (e.g., NGS panels) and understanding how these results inform treatment decisions.
• Deep understanding of the clinical-genomics landscape, including familiarity with NCCN Guidelines, molecular diagnostics, and precision medicine workflows.
• Excellent communicator who can distill complex genomic concepts for diverse audiences—product managers, engineers, designers, and other non-clinical stakeholders.
• Passionate about education with experience developing or delivering training on clinical-genomics topics.
• Collaborative, resourceful, and thrives in a fast-paced environment focused on improving cancer care through technology.
• Available for intermittent travel in support of practice engagements and go lives.
• Available for a 6-month contract engagement with flexibility to ramp up quickly and deliver impact in a defined timeframe.

Requirements

• Experience with OncoEMR or similar oncology EHRs; experience with Flatiron Assist is a plus.
• Prior involvement in clinical research or quality improvement initiatives related to precision medicine.
• Certification or advanced training in genomics or precision medicine.
• Prior contract or consulting experience in healthcare technology or product development.
