Role Description
The Clinical Occupational Therapist plays a vital role in supporting chronic stroke survivors and their caregivers following IpsiHand onboarding. Acting as a key clinical contact, this role focuses on providing skilled follow-up visits, conducting structured clinical check-ins, monitoring device adherence, and troubleshooting clinical and technical challenges to ensure optimal outcomes and long-term user engagement.

Conduct eligibility screenings for patients considering medical devices, ensuring alignment with clinical inclusion criteria.

Lead skilled telehealth follow-up visits with stroke survivors and caregivers to assess progress, evaluate protocol adherence, and reinforce IpsiHand device usage guidelines.

Provide skilled occupational therapy services via telehealth, utilizing strong skills in functional evaluations, motor function assessment, neuroplasticity-based interventions, and treatment progression.

Perform routine and targeted clinical check-ins to monitor patient engagement, identify barriers to daily device use, and provide personalized coaching and encouragement.

Review remote patient monitoring data and adherence logs to proactively address non-compliance or declining usage trends.

Troubleshoot clinical and functional challenges experienced by patients during home use, modifying care strategies or escalating to supervising clinicians when necessary.

Maintain detailed, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) following every patient interaction.

Collaborate with cross-functional clinical teams to refine and optimize clinical protocols based on real-world data and patient feedback, ensuring long-term patient retention and recovery outcomes.
Qualifications

Active clinical license as a Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in good standing required.

Licensure in CA, TX, IA, KS, MO, NE, SD, and NDβor residing in an OT compact stateβis highly preferred.

Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in neurological rehabilitation, specifically working with stroke survivors and adult rehabilitation settings.

Expertise in neuroplasticity-based interventions.

Experience conducting clinical follow-up assessments, patient monitoring, standardized outcome measures, and telehealth consultations.

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to effectively communicate complex medical information.

Proficiency with Telehealth Platforms β familiarity with HIPAA-compliant video conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom for Healthcare, Doxy.me, etc.).

Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Competency β ability to document visits and assessments accurately and on time in an EMR system.

Strong Internet & Home Office Setup β reliable internet connection, a professional workspace, and the ability to troubleshoot basic tech issues.

Comfort with Digital Communication β experience using email, patient portals, and teleconferencing tools effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in medical device training or implementation within a clinical setting.
