Role Description
The Clinical Informatics Consultant works as a liaison between health system clinical areas and the Epic analysts. This role has a demonstrated understanding of applying the use of technology to optimize and enhance clinical workflows for healthcare staff. Responsibilities include:

Function as the primary point of contact between clinical staff and IT teams to translate clinical workflows into system requirements.

Plan, schedule, and oversee training sessions for clinicians and staff on Epic EHR.

Maintain and update Epic EHR training environments to ensure they accurately reflect production workflows while remaining safe for practice and simulation.

Develop training materials, user guides, and learning modules to support onboarding and ongoing education for clinical systems.

Collaborate with project teams during system implementations, upgrades, and optimizations to ensure training readiness and clinical adoption.

Evaluate clinical staff training needs, monitor user proficiency through Epic tools, and recommend additional education or workflow improvements.

Gather feedback from clinicians regarding system usability, training effectiveness, and workflow challenges, and relay insights to IT and leadership.

Respond to user questions, troubleshoot, and track issues pertaining to the Epic EHR.

Collaborate with organizational teams/committees for system-wide standardization, optimization, and clinical alignment.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nursing or other health care related field.

Masterโs degree in informatics or education (Preferred).

5 years clinical experience.

Training, teaching, or educational facilitation experience (Preferred).
Requirements

Knowledge of clinical workflows, healthcare technology, and data management to effectively bridge the gap between clinical staff and IT teams.

Understanding of EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or MEDITECH, as well as integration of third-party systems.

EHR, data analysis, and reporting using tools like Microsoft Excel and Power BI.

Ability to design and deliver effective training programs.

Strong problem-solving, project coordination, and workflow management skills.
