[Hiring] Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist @Northside Hospital Inc.

Role Description

This position is part of a team whose primary responsibility is to improve the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation in the medical record. This individual will facilitate improvement through interaction with physicians and other members of the health care team to achieve clinical documentation that best reflects the patient's clinical status and the care provided. This position will also serve as an educational resource for all members of the health care team on an ongoing basis on issues related to clinical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher OR Associate of Science in Nursing with Bachelor of Science or higher in a comparable field
• Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or Nursing Compact (NLC/eNLC) or Multistate License
• 2 years of nursing experience in acute care.
• Advanced degree such as MBA, MPH (preferred)
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding conventions and clinical auditing processes (preferred)
• Revenue cycle and operations experience (preferred)
• CDIS Certification (preferred)
• Ability to interact with a wide range of personnel (treating physicians, nurses, CDISs, case managers, quality staff, and coders) (preferred)
• Excellent oral and written communications skills (preferred)
• Experience in CQI concepts and tools and techniques (preferred)
• Ability to interact with numerous facilities and departments (preferred)
• Proficiency in Excel and Word (preferred)
