Role Description

Immediate need for a talented Clinical Documentation Consultant (CDI) DRG Validation / Auditor. This is a 06+ months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in US (Remote).

• Perform concurrent and retrospective inpatient chart reviews
• Review provider documentation for completeness and accuracy
• Assign and validate MS-DRGs
• Develop compliant physician queries
• Improve Severity of Illness (SOI) and Risk of Mortality (ROM) capture
• Collaborate with physicians, coders, CDI, HIM, Case Management and Quality teams
• Identify CC/MCC opportunities and documentation gaps
• Support denial prevention and clinical validation initiatives
• Educate providers regarding documentation best practices
• Maintain productivity and quality standards while working remotely

Qualifications

• RN, BSN, MSN, MD or Foreign Medical Graduate
• Minimum 4 years of clinical nursing or physician experience
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient CDI experience
• Experience with DRG assignment
• Experience performing physician queries
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, MS-DRGs, SOI/ROM
• BSN, MSN, MD, or higher clinical degree
• CCDS, CDIP, CCS, CPC, RHIA, or RHIT certification
• Experience with 3M CDI and coding applications
• ICU, Critical Care, Emergency Department, Hospitalist, Case Management, Utilization Review, or CDI experience

Requirements

• Pay Range: $45 - $50/hour
• Traveler benefits as per agency package (Benefits vary by vendor and assignment)
