Role Description

To ensure high-quality clinical data with high integrity that can be used for both Clinical and Financial Management.

Qualifications

• Clinical Coding Qualification (Essential)
• Anatomy and Physiology training (Desired)

Requirements

• Clinical coding experience (Essential)
• Experience in a private healthcare facility / Theatre experience; Medical Aid Schemes coding (Desired)
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
• Anatomy; physiology and terminology
• Clinical coding knowledge of ICD-10, CSSA and SADA rules and guidelines and the ability to apply within the workplace
• Relevant coding systems (e.g. ICD-10 books; Latest CCSA coding books; clinical coding system (Encoder); South African Coding Master Industry Table (MIT), and Patient Administrative system)
• Clinical Coding and Coding Policies
• Application of SA ICD-10 Morbidity Coding Standards and Guidelines, the World Health Organization (WHO) coding rules and conventions, PHISC IDC -10 and CCSA Coding Standards and Guidelines and Mediclinic Coding Standards
• Demonstrate a sound understanding of Professional conduct
• Communication and teamwork
