Hourly Salary to be determined after interview and job offer. Service areas include High Point, Lexington, Archdale, Denton, Pleasant Garden, Randleman, Sophia, Trinity, Thomasville, Asheboro, Seagrove, Star, Biscoe, Candor, Troy, Seagrove, and Moore county.
Core Responsibilities

Medication Administration:

Prepare and administer prescribed medications, including oral, topical, and some injectable forms.

Follow the five rights of medication administration: right patient, right medication, right dose, right route, and right time.

Assist patients with self-administration when appropriate.

Patient Monitoring:

Monitor patients for adverse reactions, side effects, or changes in health status.

Report any concerns to supervising nurses or physicians.

Take vital signs before or after medication administration as required by care plans.

Documentation:

Document all administered medications, dosages, timing, and any patient responses or side effects in official medical records.

Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals:

Work closely with nurses, physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare staff to verify medication orders.

Manage inventory and ensure patient safety.

Maintain open communication for effective patient care.

Medication Management:

Maintain proper storage, organization, and inventory of medications.

Coordinate with pharmacies for refills and ensure compliance with safety protocols.

Pay special attention to controlled substances and narcotics, following legal and facility regulations.

Patient Education and Support:

Provide guidance to patients and families about medications, including potential side effects and adherence to prescribed regimens.

Offer emotional support and encouragement.

Regulatory Compliance:

Adhere to state and federal laws, facility policies, and safety protocols.

Ensure all medication administration is legally compliant.
Additional Duties

Assist with general patient care if certified as a CNA or similar role.

Participate in quality assurance initiatives to improve medication management practices.

Report any medication errors or discrepancies promptly to supervisors.
Medication technicians play a vital role in patient safety and healthcare efficiency, acting as a bridge between patients and the broader medical team while ensuring medications are administered accurately and responsibly.
