Role Description

The Certified Medical Assistant will perform delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience.

• May work in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical support.
• Assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities at the direction of the physician/provider.
• If working in the Rural Health Clinic setting, will be required to have BLS through the American Heart Association.

This position is taking a high volume of inbound calls for medical refills and follow up questions. This position will support primary care offices and pediatrics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certificate of completion or Diploma from a medical assistant program including internship/externship applied learning.
• OR Education equivalency: at least 6 months experience in Certified Medical Assistant role OR proof of completion of on-the-job training/education program for certified medical assisting in another healthcare organization.
• Current certification by one of the following approved certifying agencies:
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), earning CMA credential.
  • American Medical Technologists (AMT), earning RMA credential.
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), earning NCMA credential.
  • National HealthCare Association (NHA), earning CCMA credential.
  • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP).
  • American Allied Health (AAH).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a medical office assistant or CNA or equivalent.
• Previous experience with an electronic health record, phlebotomy.
• If working in the Rural Health Clinic setting, will be required to have BLS through the American Heart Association.

Benefits

• Expected pay for this position is $20.41 - $24.01/hour.
• Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
• This is an Hourly position.
