Role Description
The Senior (Sr.) Medical Scientist / Associate Director Medical Scientist is a scientific professional who serves as a key field-based scientific resource for healthcare providers, patients, investigators, and internal colleagues. This role will focus on key opinion leaders and other HCPs in the hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and heart failure therapeutic areas while supporting pipeline products in development.
Responsibilities include:

Developing a territory strategic plan to identify national, regional, and local Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) involved with cardiovascular care.

Maintaining and broadening professional relationships with HCPs in institutional care centers.

Contributing to planning and execution of Congress activities, including reviewing scientific programming and summarizing key information.

Serving as a scientific expert at key medical and scientific conferences and meetings.

Maintaining a high level of scientific knowledge about disease states and treatment guidelines.

Working with Medical Affairs on initiatives including medical information, publications, and educational programs.

Providing support to clinical development programs as a key point of contact for investigators.

Collaborating with field account specialists in support of MYQORZO.

Timely and accurately responding to unsolicited requests for Medical Information.

Mentoring and supporting Sr. Medical Scientist.

Providing strategic input and executing region-specific plans to achieve KOL engagement goals.

Pursuing projects independently with high quality and timely execution.

Establishing relationships with key executive leadership colleagues across Cytokinetics.
Qualifications

Bilingual (Spanish) highly preferred.

Advanced clinical or scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, or MD/DO, MS, PA, ARNP) preferred.

For Sr. MSL, 0-5 years of clinical or pharmaceutical industry experience.

For Associate Director, a minimum of 5 years of CV MSL experience is required.

Must be analytical and articulate in both oral and written communications.

Must understand Medical Science Liaison roles and responsibilities.

Comply with all credentialing requirements for healthcare institutions.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
-
A valid US Driverβs License is required.

Ability to travel both domestically (~30%-50%) and internationally on occasion.

Understanding of compliance within the PhRMA Code Standards and other regulations.
