[Hiring] Technical Product Marketing Manager @AppGate Cybersecurity, Inc.

Role Description

We're looking for a Technical Product Marketing Manager to join AppGate's product marketing team with a dedicated focus on the Federal, Department of Defense (DoD) and broader Public Sector market. This role is exclusive to our Federal business. You will be the go-to product marketer for civilian agencies, defense and intelligence organizations, systems integrators, and state and local government, owning how AppGate ZTNA is positioned, proven and sold in this space.

This is a hands-on, technically oriented position for a product marketer who is comfortable going deep with architects and engineers, understands how government buys technology, and can turn complex capabilities and compliance requirements into clear, compelling value for mission owners, program offices and the teams that sell to them.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and own Federal positioning, value propositions, personas and messaging for AppGate ZTNA, aligned to government Zero Trust mandates and frameworks such as the DoD Zero Trust Strategy and Reference Architecture, the CISA Zero Trust Maturity Model, NIST SP 800-207, OMB M-22-09 and TIC 3.0.
• Partner with the solutions engineering team on RFPs, RFIs, RFQs and sources-sought responses, contributing technical and marketing content, building and maintaining a reusable response library, and ensuring responses reflect accurate, compliant and differentiated positioning.
• Map AppGate capabilities to government compliance and security control requirements (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, CMMC, FedRAMP, DISA STIGs) and translate them into content that helps agencies and integrators evaluate and justify AppGate.
• Plan and execute product launches and campaigns, including launch plans, sales playbooks, collateral and cross-functional enablement.
• Build and update Federal sales enablement assets (battlecards, pitch decks, mission-focused use cases, ROI content, demo scripts, etc.) and train Federal sales, solutions engineering and field marketing teams.
• Create technical, customer-facing content for government audiences: whitepapers, solution briefs, reference architectures, capability statements, one-pagers, website copy, blog posts and webinar materials.
• Support channel and ecosystem go-to-market with systems integrators, federal resellers and contract vehicle holders, including joint messaging and partner enablement.
• Conduct competitive analysis specific to the Federal market and provide actionable intelligence to product, sales and demand teams.
• Partner with demand generation and customer reference programs on Federal campaigns, events and thought leadership.
• Track market dynamics, including policy, budget and mandate developments, agency Zero Trust initiatives, and customer and analyst insights, and use them to guide product positioning and roadmap input.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of product marketing experience (or combined product marketing, technical marketing, solutions engineering or product management experience), ideally supporting B2B enterprise security products.
• Direct experience marketing or selling to Federal, DoD and/or State & Local government is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on familiarity with government RFP/RFI processes and experience supporting proposal teams.
• Working knowledge of government Zero Trust and cybersecurity frameworks (DoD ZT Strategy, CISA ZTMM, NIST SP 800-207 and 800-53, CMMC, FedRAMP, TIC 3.0).
• Strong technical aptitude in networking, identity and access, and cloud security, with the ability to speak credibly with engineers, architects and security leaders.
• Excellent writing and storytelling skills, able to create crisp, technical-to-mission messaging and sales-facing content.
• Proven experience launching products and equipping sales with effective playbooks and assets.
• Data-driven: experience tracking content performance, win rates and GTM metrics.
• U.S. citizenship required; an active security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one, is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Marketing, Communications, Business, Computer Science or a related field.
