Role Description

We are seeking an experienced, growth-focused Social Media Manager with a proven track record of growing media brands, digital publications, and content-driven platforms. This role is for someone who understands the media landscape, knows how to build audiences across social media channels, and can turn compelling content into sustained growth in reach, engagement, followers, and overall brand visibility. We are not looking for someone who only knows how to post content. We need a professional who has successfully grown media pages and channels and can demonstrate measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute social media growth strategies for media brands and digital content platforms.
• Manage and grow social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, X, and other relevant platforms.
• Translate media content, breaking stories, features, interviews, videos, and other editorial materials into platform-appropriate content.
• Drive audience growth, engagement, reach, content discoverability, and brand visibility.
• Monitor social media trends, platform algorithms, audience behaviour, and emerging content opportunities.
• Analyse channel performance using platform analytics and other reporting tools.
• Track key metrics, identify growth opportunities, and implement data-driven improvements.
• Develop content calendars and coordinate publishing schedules in collaboration with editorial and creative teams.
• Identify high-performing content formats, headlines, hooks, captions, and distribution strategies.
• Build and sustain active online communities while maintaining the brand's voice and reputation.
• Prepare regular performance reports highlighting results, insights, and recommended actions.
• Establish measurable growth targets and take ownership of achieving them.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience growing media brands, digital publications, online news platforms, entertainment brands, or other content-driven media channels.
• A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in social media management, digital media, or audience development.
• Evidence of successfully growing social media pages and channels, supported by actual performance data.
• Strong understanding of the media industry, digital publishing, content distribution, and audience development.
• Proficiency in social media analytics tools, including Meta Business Suite, YouTube Studio, TikTok Analytics, and other relevant platforms.
• Ability to interpret analytics and convert insights into effective growth strategies.
• Strong understanding of platform algorithms, viral content dynamics, audience retention, and engagement optimisation.
• Excellent content judgement, communication skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple platforms, and deliver results in a remote environment.

Benefits

• Salary: ₦200,000 – ₦250,000 Monthly
