[Hiring] Senior Manager, Social & Community @Ursa Major Skincare

Role Description

Ursa Major is looking for a strategic, creatively minded social leader to own and evolve how our brand shows up across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and emerging social channels.

Over the past several months, our founders and creative team have worked hands-on to sharpen our social storytelling — developing a more distinctive point of view, stronger creative instincts and a clearer playbook for what feels unmistakably Ursa Major. Now we’re looking for someone great to take that foundation and run with it.

This is not simply a channel-management or publishing role. We’re looking for a social-first brand storyteller — someone who understands what makes people stop, watch, engage, share and come back; who has excellent creative instincts; and who can translate a brand idea into a compelling social concept, story and brief.

What You’ll Do

• Own Ursa Major’s social strategy, editorial direction and content calendar and curation across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and emerging channels
• Develop social-first concepts and stories around our brand, products, ingredients, people, Vermont roots and broader world
• Work closely with our creative team and founders to bring those ideas to life
• Build and nurture an engaged social community, leveraging a smart creator CRM and working closely with our Creator Marketing team
• Be in tune with - and responsive to - the cultural zeitgeist, and what folks are saying about our brand and competitors
• Lead organic social support for product launches, campaigns, events, partnerships and other brand initiatives
• Identify high-performing organic content for paid amplification, partnering with our Growth team on upper-funnel brand discovery
• Use engagement, performance and insights data to continuously improve our content and channel strategy
• Work hand-in-hand with our Creator Marketing lead to connect owned social storytelling with our growing creator ecosystem
• Over time, build and manage a small social team (you will have some support from our internal team in the interim)

Qualifications

• 4-7+ years of relevant experience, including meaningful ownership of social for a premium, distinctive, challenger consumer or lifestyle brand
• Beauty experience is welcome but not essential; relevant core experience in wellness, food, fashion, outdoor, travel or another culturally relevant category could be just as interesting
• Understanding of the difference between putting brand content on social media and actually making great social content for a brand like Ursa Major

Our North Star for this role is on-brand visual and written storytelling, meaningful engagement and growing brand affinity, not simply posting volume or follower count. Key measures will include:

• Engagement rate
• Shares and saves
• Organic reach
• Video engagement/watch time
• Qualified community growth
• Performance of social content amplified through paid media
