Role Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager to join our dynamic marketing team. In this cross-functional leadership role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive lifecycle marketing strategies that maximize customer lifetime value and minimize churn across our two wine brands - Firstleaf (subscription) and Swirl (non-subscription).

  • Architect lifecycle journeys and guide segmentation approach
  • Develop personalized and effective contact strategies across various channels (email, SMS, website, push notifications, and referral program)
  • Play a key role in overall promotional strategy, collaborating with the Email Marketing Manager
  • Advise on tech stack and current trends to deliver seamless, on-brand experiences
  • Clearly communicate performance story by tying campaign performance to business results

This is a fully remote position with occasional travel for team meetings (up to 2x/year).

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Lifecycle Management:
    • Design and optimize lifecycle programs for Firstleaf and Swirl brands
    • Create and implement a comprehensive customer journey roadmap
    • Drive customer retention and LTV by identifying churn drivers
    • Oversee Next Best Action programs based on customer segmentation
    • Lead quarterly campaign planning process
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging
    • Advise on and optimize marketing tech stack
    • Manage external relationships with vendors
  • Segmentation, Personalization, and Optimization:
    • Develop and implement segmentation strategies
    • Design and implement tests to drive incremental revenue
    • Optimize campaign performance using data
    • Architect and deploy a personalization framework
    • Identify gaps in personalization and segmentation approaches
  • Multi-Channel Strategy and Development:
    • Optimize channel use and interactivity
    • Align channels with journeys and audiences
    • Optimize referral programs for new customer acquisition
    • Drive technology and platform optimization to enhance LTV
    • Collaborate with Member Experience (MX) on outreach
    • Support Email Marketing Manager on email strategies
    • Test and optimize new channels
  • Performance Analysis and Reporting:
    • Understand key retention and portfolio health metrics
    • Track and analyze campaign performance
    • Establish and streamline performance monitoring
    • Analyze user behavior and performance trends

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in a lifecycle marketing role, preferably in a DTC subscription or e-commerce environment
  • Deep experience in email, CRM programs, and loyalty initiatives
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful retention marketing strategies
  • Experience in building marketing campaigns from the ground up
  • Proven ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data
  • Deep understanding of compliance and regulatory standards
  • Excellent project management skills with attention to detail
  • Proven ability to build and manage multiple vendor relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Desirable Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong interest in wine
  • Knowledge of SQL, HTML, and Google Analytics
  • Prior experience with Shopify and Braze
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or similar field
  • Experience leveraging multiple data platforms and analyst tools
