Role Description

The Marketing Research Lead at JerseySTEM is a strategic thinker and data-driven professional responsible for conducting in-depth research to enhance our outreach to corporations. This individual plays a crucial role in shaping the organization's marketing efforts by providing insights and recommendations to optimize engagement, increase awareness, and foster meaningful relationships with corporate partners. Understanding the motivations and interests of corporations is key to this role, as it informs targeted marketing strategies and aligns with JerseySTEM's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the corporate landscape to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges.
• Use data-driven methods to understand corporate behavior, philanthropic interests, and engagement preferences.
• Develop and implement surveys to gather insights from corporations and other stakeholders.
• Ensure that surveys are methodologically sound and align with organizational goals.
• Gather information through various research methods, including interviews, focus groups, and secondary research.
• Interpret data to draw meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
• Work closely with the marketing team to translate research findings into effective marketing strategies.
• Ensure alignment between research insights and marketing initiatives.
• Present research findings to internal stakeholders, including executives and team members, in a clear and compelling manner.
• Create visual and written reports to support decision-making.

Qualifications

• Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gap.
• Proven experience in marketing research, preferably in a nonprofit or corporate partnership environment.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with an ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings to diverse audiences.
• Resourceful, can-do attitude.
• Experience leading a function (i.e. team, department manager, etc.) and managing others.
• Comfort working in a ‘virtual organization’ with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, Salesforce).
• Would be a plus if candidate has flexible schedule to allow for ad hoc calls during the work week.
