Role Description
The Marketing and Communications Assistant serves as an assistant to the Program Director of Agency Development and Community Engagement. Full time, part time, or contracted applicants will be considered. This role will build relationships with potential and existing stakeholders through social media networks, online platforms, in-person events, print marketing, and other methods of outreach.

Develop and manage social media and digital content that builds awareness of the organization, its mission, programs, and services.

Lead marketing and communications efforts focused on foster parent recruitment and the urgent need for foster families.

Educate the community about foster care and adoption, including realities, myths, needs, and opportunities to get involved.

Create monthly and season-specific donor appeals and fundraising content highlighting current organizational needs (e.g., back-to-school, holiday, and year-end campaigns), while communicating impact and inviting community support.

Develop content for key awareness months and observances.

Create newsletters, publications, marketing materials, and other mission-focused communications.

Attend and photograph/video agency events and establish and maintain an archive of photos and consents for agency use.

Increase the organization's visibility and brand awareness through community outreach, events, partnerships, and digital platforms.

Share stories, resources, and educational content that engage youth, families, foster parents, donors, and community members.

Ensure consistency in terms of voice, branding, messaging, and frequency of posting via digital and print channels of communication.

Develop working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and partners.

Solicit donations, corporate sponsorships, and partnerships for agency fundraisers.

Assist in donor and volunteer management.

Assist in grant writing by providing supplementary materials as needed.

Create and edit agency videos when needed.

Support staff in assigned project-based work and attend/support fundraisers and events involving the development and community engagement team.

Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

1β3 years of experience in marketing, communications, social media, public relations, or a related field.

Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and verbal communication skills.

Experience managing social media platforms and creating engaging digital content.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and campaigns.

Strong understanding of branding, audience engagement, and community outreach.

Proficiency with Canva and common social media platforms.

Bachelorβs degree in marketing, communications, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
