Role Description
MagicSchool is looking for a
Director of Digital Marketing
to build and lead our paid and organic acquisition engines. You will own how we reach two audiences: teachers who sign up and use MagicSchool every day, and the schools and districts that partner with us. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will:
-
Drive B2C signups and adoption through paid digital channels, balancing volume, quality, and cost efficiency.
-
Generate top-of-funnel leads and pipeline for our B2B sales team across search, paid social, display, and other paid channels.
-
Own the website strategy and roadmap with a focus on conversion rate optimization, including automated A/B testing and publishing in Webflow.
-
Oversee lifecycle and email marketing strategy in partnership with marketing operations to improve activation and retention.
-
Manage and coach our paid digital agency and contractors so that performance is clear, consistent, and strong.
-
Build performance reporting across channels and turn the data into a clear story for leaders and partner teams.
-
Partner with Product, Customer Success, Sales, and the wider marketing team to keep digital marketing aligned with company goals.
Qualifications
-
Data fluency: You analyze performance data with ease and explain what it means and what to do next in plain language.
-
Ownership: You take full accountability for results and drive work from idea through execution.
-
Collaboration: You work well across marketing, sales, product, and customer success.
-
Coachability: You welcome feedback, apply it quickly, and keep raising the bar for yourself and your team.
-
Comfort with ambiguity: You make sound decisions with incomplete information and adjust as you learn.
-
Mission alignment: You care about improving education through technology.
Requirements
-
Director-level experience managing a multi-million dollar marketing budget.
-
Several years of hands-on and managerial experience in search engine marketing (Google Ads and Bing Ads), with a record of ROI-positive campaigns across global markets.
-
Deep experience running paid social campaigns, especially on Meta and LinkedIn.
-
A proven ability to drive both B2C user acquisition and B2B demand generation.
-
Experience managing web developers and overseeing website strategy.
-
Nice to have: experience with Iterable or a similar lifecycle email platform, Webflow (including automated A/B testing and CMS publishing), reporting tools such as Looker, Metabase, Amplitude, or HockeyStack, a background in edtech or mission-driven SaaS, and experience briefing and managing creative production for paid campaigns.
Benefits
-
Work on cutting-edge AI technology that directly impacts educators and students.
-
Join a mission-driven team passionate about making education more efficient and equitable.
-
Flexibility of working from home, while fostering a unique culture built on relationships, trust, communication, and collaboration with our team - no matter where they live.
-
Unlimited time off to empower our employees to manage their work-life balance.
-
Choice of employer-paid health insurance plans, including dental and vision at very low premiums.
-
Generous stock options, vested over 4 years.
