Role Description
Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for Shockwave Medical Inc. an Associate Director Marketing DACH, to be located in Germany.
As Associate Director Marketing for the DACH Region, you will play a key leadership role in driving the commercial success and sustainable growth of Shockwave Medical across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. You will be responsible for shaping and executing the regional marketing strategy in close alignment with global business objectives, while ensuring strong adaptation to local healthcare systems, regulatory requirements, and reimbursement environments.
This role requires strong strategic thinking, the ability to influence across functions, and proven experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies in a complex, multi-country MedTech environment.
You will collaborate closely with regional sales leadership, market access, medical affairs, and global marketing teams to support market penetration, product adoption, and patient access. As a senior member of the regional marketing organization, you will also contribute to building people capabilities, robust processes, and effective ways of working that support long-term growth.
This position reports directly to the DACH Sales Director, with a dotted line to International Marketing leadership.
Travel:
Regular travel across the DACH Region and occasional international travel required (approximately 30–40%).
Key Responsibilities

Shape and drive the DACH marketing strategy in alignment with global priorities and local market needs.

Translate strategic direction into clear regional priorities and execution plans.

Develop and execute regional go-to-market strategies across the product lifecycle, from launch readiness to mature portfolio optimization.

Use market intelligence, customer insights, and performance data to guide portfolio focus and marketing investment decisions.

Lead and coordinate regional product launches across all DACH markets.

Ensure strong cross-functional launch readiness and track post-launch performance.

Partner with market access, health economics, and reimbursement teams to support access strategies and value communication.

Build strong partnerships with Sales, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, and Global Marketing.

Influence outcomes in a matrix organization through clear communication and alignment.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and relevant clinical stakeholders across the DACH region.

Support Shockwave Medical’s positioning as a trusted partner within the clinical community.

Provide functional leadership, coaching, and development to marketing team members.

Contribute to building strong marketing capabilities, processes, and ways of working across the region.

Support regional budget planning, performance tracking, and reporting.

Ensure all marketing activities adhere to Johnson & Johnson standards, compliance requirements, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

8–10+ years of marketing experience within the medical device, MedTech, or healthcare industry, including responsibility for regional or multi-country initiatives.

Proven experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies and product launches in complex healthcare environments.

Strong understanding of DACH healthcare systems and reimbursement landscapes.

Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively across functions, countries, and geographies in a matrix organization.

Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data and insights into clear strategic direction.

Fluency in English and German required; additional European languages are a plus.
