[Hiring] Transactional Attorney - M&A Specialist @Mercor

Role Description

Position: Legal Expert — Transactional / Corporate (Remote, Hourly)

Type: Contract

Compensation: $85–$120/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 20–40 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

• Design realistic deal scenarios from transactional practice such as M&A due diligence, SPAs/APAs, and securities filings.
• Write "golden" reference responses at attorney-level quality.
• Grade AI-generated responses using structured rubrics.
• Provide written feedback to improve model behavior.
• Participate in onboarding office hours and specialty calibration sessions.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
• 1–4 years of professional experience in transactional or corporate law.
• J.D. (U.S./Canada) or LL.B./LL.M. (U.K.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in the U.S., Canada, or U.K. (active or inactive).
• Strong experience in contract review, due diligence, corporate governance, NDA drafting, or securities filings.
• Excellent written communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Preferred:
• Experience with disclosure schedules or closing checklists.
• Exposure to private equity, venture capital, or fund formation.
• Experience with SEC reporting or securities offerings.
• Familiarity with virtual data rooms like Intralinks or Datasite.
