Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Trademark Attorney to support a busy intellectual property regional law firm on a remote, contract basis with the potential for extension and/or conversion to a permanent role. This position is ideal for a highly responsive, client-focused attorney with strong experience in trademark prosecution, clearance, and portfolio management who can operate independently in a fast-paced environment.

Represent applicants and registrants before the USPTO, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), and U.S. Copyright Office

Conduct and analyze high-volume trademark clearance searches

Draft and deliver clear, practical legal opinions and risk assessments

Manage domestic and international trademark portfolios

Handle all aspects of trademark prosecution, including filings, office actions, and responses

Provide strategic guidance to clients to support branding and business objectives

Represent clients in UDRP domain name dispute proceedings

Collaborate with partners and clients in a responsive, professional, and deadline-driven environment
Estimated workload: 30β40 hours per week, though hours are not guaranteed and may vary based on demand.
Qualifications

6+ years of direct trademark and intellectual property experience

Substantial experience with:

USPTO trademark prosecution

TTAB proceedings
-
UDRP matters
-
Copyright Office filings and representation
-
Strong background in clearance searching and legal opinion writing

Experience managing trademark portfolios for multiple clients

Proven ability to work independently in a high-volume practice

Strong communication skills with an emphasis on clarity, responsiveness, and client service

Demonstrated professional maturity and ability to manage competing deadlines
Requirements

Bachelorβs degree required

Remote role (U.S.-based; candidate must be licensed and reside in a state where the firm maintains or supports practice requirements)
