[Hiring] Senior Patent & IP Counsel @The L Suite

Role Description

Lyten is seeking a Senior Patent & IP Counsel to build and lead its intellectual property function at a pivotal moment of growth and innovation. As the company’s first dedicated IP counsel, this role will shape and execute Lyten’s patent strategy across breakthrough technologies, including:

• Lithium–sulfur batteries
• Advanced composites
• Concrete admixtures
• Next-generation sensors

This is both a strategic and hands-on position, responsible for:

• Drafting and prosecuting patent applications
• Managing the global IP portfolio
• Serving as an embedded partner to product and engineering teams
• Driving invention disclosure processes
• Overseeing freedom-to-operate and infringement analyses
• Leading IP diligence for acquisitions and asset purchases
• Managing outside counsel
• Negotiating complex IP provisions in commercial agreements
• Advising on trademark, trade secret, and IP aspects of employment and contractor agreements

Qualifications

• J.D. with an active U.S. law license
• USPTO registration
• At least 7 years of IP experience
• Strong record of patent drafting and prosecution in technology, materials, or hardware sectors
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline
• Advanced degrees and experience in battery, energy storage, or advanced materials considered a plus
• U.S. citizenship required due to export control regulations
