Role Description
As a Senior Paralegal β Personal Injury Litigation, you will support attorneys by managing a personal injury and civil litigation caseload from pre-filing through litigation milestones. You will own key tasks that keep cases moving efficiently and confidently, ensuring court deadlines are met, documents are filed correctly, and clients remain well-informed throughout the legal process.
This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment inside a growth-phase firm. You will be expected to onboard onto active cases quickly, build and document your own processes where none exist, and produce consistent, high-quality output under pressure β from day one. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong independent judgment, and a proactive, low-maintenance communication style.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities Will Include:
-
Managing personal injury and civil litigation caseloads independently β including approximately 20 active litigation and/or pre-litigation matters simultaneously.
-
Preparing, formatting, and filing key court documents including complaints, motions, and case management statements β with zero tolerance for recurring errors regardless of workload pressure.
-
Maintaining and updating case calendars with deadlines, hearings, and filings β anticipating what needs to happen next without being asked.
-
Drafting and coordinating discovery requests, responses, and related correspondence with precision and efficiency.
-
Working with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties to gather necessary case information and respond appropriately β asking targeted, efficient questions rather than requiring extended explanatory sessions.
-
Organizing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents using MS Word to ensure full compliance with court rules and internal quality standards.
-
Preparing exhibits, binders, and document sets for hearings, depositions, and trial preparation.
-
Using Clio Manage for case tracking, document storage, and client communications β keeping everything current and accessible at all times.
-
Collaborating with attorneys to support trial preparation as needed β self-sufficiently, even when lateral support is unavailable or unreliable.
-
Communicating with clients to gather facts, provide case updates, and ensure timely input on litigation strategy β always with professionalism and discretion.
-
Building and documenting workflows and processes where they do not yet exist β contributing to the operational structure of a growing firm rather than simply inheriting established systems.
This is a hybrid role β you will serve as both a Litigation Paralegal and a Case Manager in personal injury matters.
