[Hiring] Senior Legal Counsel @Hitachi

Role Description

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support its growing business operations in North America. You will provide legal advice and counsel across a broad range of business, commercial, litigation, risk, and compliance matters. This role includes:

• Drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Participating in risk reviews.
• Managing disputes and outside counsel.
• Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
• Working closely with business leaders and legal colleagues across multiple regions and business units.
• Developing practical legal strategies that support business growth while protecting the company from significant risks.

The position requires independent judgment, collaboration across a matrixed organization, and the ability to provide pragmatic legal guidance in a dynamic and multicultural environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
• Admission to the North Carolina Bar or another State Bar.
• At least 8 years of experience directly related to the responsibilities of the role.
• Significant experience providing legal advice regarding product liability matters and commercial litigation; experience with global legal matters preferred.
• Sound legal judgment and comprehensive business understanding.
• Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
